Overview
In the Advanced Developing on AWS course, participants have the opportunity to explore the process of refactoring a historical, on-premises monolithic application into a serverless microservices architecture.
This three-day advanced development course focuses on various subjects related to architecting in a cloud-native environment.
During the course, participants will learn the techniques involved in disassembling old on-premises applications and repackaging them into cloud-based, cloud-native architectures.
The emphasis is on leveraging the benefits of cloud computing and adopting modern architectural approaches. One such approach covered in the course is the Twelve-Factor Application methodology, which provides guidelines for building scalable, resilient, and portable applications in the cloud.
The course delves into advanced topics related to developing on AWS and designing applications that take full advantage of cloud-native capabilities. Participants will gain insights into designing highly available and fault-tolerant architectures, implementing efficient data storage and retrieval mechanisms, and leveraging managed services provided by AWS to simplify development and deployment processes.

- Software Developers familiar with AWS services
Prerequisites
- Commercial experience with at least one high-level programming language
- Working familiarity with implementing public clouds and the critical AWS services
- Completed the Developing on AWS course
Deliverables
- Determine logical or programmatic break points in a monolithic application design so that the application may be divided among several AWS services
- Apply the ideas and techniques from the Twelve-Factor Application manifesto as you transition from monolithic design
- Provide advice on the best AWS services to use while creating a microservices-based, cloud-native application
- To administer and keep track of AWS services, use the AWS API, CLI, and SDKs
- Use the 6 Rs of migration to convert a monolithic application to a microservices application
- Describe the interdependencies between SysOps and DevOps required to deploy a microservices application in AWS
